2011 Spring Reception

2011 Spring Reception

The 2011 Fem Dems Spring Reception and Silent Auction was held Thursday, April 28th at the Barton Art Gallery in Sacramento.

We were pleased to award Speaker pro Tempore Fiona Ma the Honorary Fem Dem of the Year award for her tireless advocacy of electing women to office.

The 2011 Fem Dems Spring Reception and Silent Auction celebrated Democratic women in politics and provided an opportunity to meet, connect, and network in support of one another. All proceeds from the event will go to two new initiatives to support the cause of gender parity in politics:

1. The new Fem Dems PAC, which will support women candidates in their campaigns for elected office; and

2. A comprehensive, on-line directory of women in the business of getting Democratic women elected.

We are pleased to provide this unique service free to the public to showcase the many women-owned political consulting, polling, fundraising and lobbying firms that have trail- blazed in this traditionally male profession. This wonderful resource will help women candidates and candidates who support women’s rights find a winning campaign team!

Thank you again to all who came and showed support.

We were proud to announce the creation of our new PAC the Feminist Democrats of Sacramento.

The PAC will allow us to actively contribute to and support candidates  in order to provide candidate training and campaign support.

We are excited to be actively involved in the 2012 election cycle as we continue our mission and vision of more involvement of women in all levels of politics.

We believe that our State urgently needs more representation by women and that 2012 provides us a unique opportunity to encourage, promote and elect more women to public office.

Candidate Training Boot Camp

Candidate Training Boot Camp

Our 2012 Boot Camp Graduates!

About the Boot Camp:

The inaugural Fem Dems candidate training Boot Camp was an exceptional opportunity for feminist Democrats who are candidates or considering running for office to learn the ins and outs of a campaign.

California’s foremost political professionals  headlined a series of panel discussions and workshops on fundraising, election finance law, messaging, grassroots organizing, and social & new media.

Immediately following the boot camp was a reception for all members, attendees, panelists and sponsors at the Grange in Sacramento.  The reception offered everyone an opportunity to network with rising candidates, accomplished professionals, dedicated sponsors and the members of the Fem Dems who work tirelessly to to provide these kind of opportunities.

About the Sponsorship Opportunities:

The Fem Dems offered exclusive sponsorship opportunities to leaders in business, politics, and the community.

Sponsorship of the 2012 Fem Dems Campaign Boot Camp helps to amplify the voice of feminist Democrats in politics and provide a valuable atmosphere for women to meet, connect, and network to better support each other.
